Sagada Solo Trip April 2006

I went on a solo trip to Sagada in April 2006.

I was depressed back then and on a whim, I bought a ticket to Banaue, Ifugao. From there I took a ride to Sagada and stayed there (at the Ganduyan Inn, cheap but decent) for two days.

Sagada is the perfect place to relax and unwind with its cold weather and natural scenery. And that’s exactly what I did there. I walked around. I don’t think I ever perspired. It was almost freezing even during noon.

I decided to revisit Bomod-ok Falls. It’s a jeepney ride from town proper and a half-hour trek down the rice terraces but I wasn’t myself that day so I walked the whole way.

It took me four hours to reach the falls and five hours back to the town. (Going back was time-consuming because I literally climbed rice terraces plus the fact that I was dead-tired already).

When I tell people about it they always say, “You’re crazy!”

Well, I was.

Crazy or not, it was a great experience walking all around Sagada.
